Star Inn Fire, Multiple Rooms Damaged
Several Joliet Fire Department engines responded to Tuesday night's blaze on Joliet's Jefferson Street.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Fire Department and Joliet Police Department responded to a Tuesday night fire at The Star Inn Motel on West Jefferson Street in Joliet around 8:30 p.m., according to eyewitnesses who notified Patch about the blaze.
The Joliet Police Department evacuated the entire motel for approximately 45 minutes until the all-clear was given by the fire department, witnesses said.
The fire appears to have destroyed two rooms behind the office on the first floor. Smoke could be seen outside. One witness said the fire started originated in an upstairs room. The manager's room is directly below that, and it was damaged by water.
