Business Wants To Add Massages
Fit for All's website proclaims it is "The Best Gym in Joliet."

JOLIET, IL - Plans to add massage therapy services to the Fit for All gym on Joliet's West Jefferson Street are moving forward. Last week, Joliet's zoning board offered no objections to the special use permit being sought by Josh Biba. The Romeoville resident operates Joliet's Fit for All fitness center at 2723 W. Jefferson St. The business is within Joliet's Stadium Plaza commercial strip mall.
"The request for a special use permit to allow a massage facility within a part of the tenant space at 2723 W. Jefferson Street should not cause any negative impacts to the surrounding area, subject to the suggested conditions," a city memo indicated.
Those conditions require the applicants to obtain a business license with the city. Also, if their property is ever deemed a public nuisance, their permit would be jeopardized and subject to revocation.

According to city documents, the massage therapy services planned at Fit for All will take place inside a 12 foot by 10 foot room and "will comprise less than 2 percent of total floor space. The property in question is zoned B-3 for general business." Fit for All occupies two addresses in the strip mall, 2723 and 2725 W. Jefferson Street, city records show.
"Massage therapy services will be offered by appointment and by a licensed therapist," city officials wrote. "Fit for All has a total of five employees, including the two business owners." Fit for All opened its doors on Jefferson Street in January 2017.

In December, Fit for All began alerting customers to its upcoming plans to add a licensed massage therapist after the start of the New Year.
"Our very own Erin Boaden is going to be joining us to provide some high-quality injury prevention and recovery. Her therapeutic massages will work out your knots, relax your body and leave you feeling amazing," Fit for All posted on its website.
Fit for All is open from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 5:30 a.m. to noon on Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and "occasionally on Sundays for special classes," city records show.
There were no objections from any audience members at last week's city of Joliet zoning board hearing. However, the special use permit now goes before Joliet's City Council for a final vote at an upcoming meeting.
