Five 911 Calls Made By Joliet Man Before Joliet Police Track Him Down And Make An Arrest: English

JOLIET, IL — Every so often, the Joliet Police Department goes out an makes an arrest pertaining to someone calling 911. Such an incident happened last week and now 24-year-old Joliet resident James Perry has been charged with disorderly conduct.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:16 a.m. March 17, officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Winthrop Avenue for a reported disturbance.

Upon arrival, he said the officers learned that Perry had been involved in a verbal argument with family members inside the home. Officers worked to de-escalate the situation, and Perry agreed to leave the residence. Officers then provided him transportation to the Motel 6 at 3551 Mall Loop Drive, according to English.

Shortly thereafter, Perry made multiple calls to 911 requesting assistance, despite having been provided transportation and lodging options, English announced.

Officers responded to several locations, including a hotel and a nearby business, to check on his well-being. Perry continued calling 911 without reporting an emergency and later returned to the residence on Winthrop Avenue, causing another disturbance, English said.
