Fleeing Joliet Car Burglar Falls To Ground, Needs Hospital Visit After Taser Deployment: JPD
Officers were unable to apprehend the second male who fled from the vehicle, the Joliet police arrest report noted.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced the capture of 31-year-old Jaime Briceno in connection with a vehicle theft taking place in the 400 block of Oneida Street in the wee hours of the morning.
On the other hand, Joliet police said, a second thief managed to get away.
According to the arrest reports, at 3:49 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 400 block of Oneida for a possible vehicle theft in progress involving a Chrysler 300.

The officers approached the Chrysler, which was parked in front of a residence, and as they did, two men suddenly got out of the driver’s and passenger’s sides and ran away, police said.
Officers pursued the suspects and took one man, identified as Jaime Briceno of Joliet, into custody a short distance away after a Taser deployment, according to police spokesman Dwayne English.

He said officers discovered the Chrysler’s rear window had been shattered and the steering column appeared to have been peeled.
As for Briceno, he was taken to Saint Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department for an injury he sustained when he fell to the ground following the taser deployment. After being treated and released, Briceno was taken to the Joliet Police Department, where he was processed on charges
of attempted motor vehicle theft, criminal trespass to a vehicle, criminal damage to property and resisting/obstructing a peace officer, according to English's arrest reports.
Following processing, Briceno was released on a notice to appear in court. This case remains under investigation, English emphasized.
