Flooding Prompts Route 30 Closure In Joliet

IDOT has issued a number of road closures in the southwest suburbs because of flooding.

JOLIET, IL - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced an emergency closing of Route 30 in Joliet at Highland Park Drive because of heavy flooding. That area is near Pilcher Park and is a main travel route for motorists driving between Joliet and New Lenox. Flooding has also created more problems for motorists across the southwestern suburbs including I-57 and also along Wolf Road. Elsewhere in Will County, the DuPage River in Bolingbrook is nearing its flood level stages of 19.5 feet.
