JOLIET, IL - On Friday night, two out of town women were arrested by Joliet Police at the Louis Joliet Mall's Furry Babies store in connection with allegations that one of them was using fake identification to purchase a dog. The situation intensified and led to a physical altercation at the store, according to police.

Eventually, Joliet Police hauled away 24-year-old Diamond Woods of Chicago and 24-year-old Ashley Howliet of Dyer, IN., whose mugshot is at the top of this article. Woods was charged with identity theft, deceptive practice, having a fake driver's license and resisting a peace officer.

On Friday night, around 8:15 p.m., Joliet Police say they responded to the Furry Babies at Mall Loop Drive for someone "applying for credit to purchase a dog using a fictitious Illinois driver’s license."

At the store, Joliet officers tried to talk to Woods, but she "refused and attempted to walk away from officers. When officers told Woods she was under arrest, she pulled away … and again attempted to walk away. After a brief struggle, Woods was placed into custody."

As for the other woman with Woods, "Howliet kept attempting to take a cell phone from Woods which contained the fictitious driver’s license. Howliet was told numerous times to stay back. As Woods was being arrested, Howliet again attempted to take the cell phone from Woods. Howliet was placed into custody by security officers after a brief struggle," police reports show.

Woods was incarcerated at the county jail from 1:53 a.m. Saturday morning until around noon, when she posted 10 percent of her bail, which was set at $2,500 by a weekend judge.
