Glasgow Announces New Program Aimed At Helping Will County Military Veterans

JOLIET, IL - Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow is hosting a public event at 5 p.m. Monday to discuss more details of a training program geared for helping local military veterans. The announcement will take place at the Hines VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, located at the former Silver Cross Hospital, 1201 Eagle St.

According to Glasgow's press advisory about Monday's town hall meeting, a new certified computer course is being created to help area veterans pursue careers in the growing field of information technology. The partnership involves Hines VA Hospital and the Veterans Assistance Commission of Will County.

"This is a great opportunity for veterans to learn more about their benefits and the great services we have available, not only at the Joliet clinic, but the additional care available at the main Hines campus as well," hospital director Steven E. Braverman said in a press release.

The Joliet clinic provides a number of services to help veterans such as women's health, primary care, behavioral health, eye care, podiatry and routine prescriptions.
