Glass Door Shatters At Double J Sports Bar's Closing Time, Joliet Police Track Down And Arrest Customer
Officers say they located Ricardo Escobedo-Arteaga at his home and took him into custody without incident.

JOLIET, IL — A 47-year-old Joliet man who was a patron at the Double J Sports Bar over the weekend has been arrested by the Joliet police force in connection with felony criminal damage to property. Ricardo Escobedo-Arteaga was found by the Joliet police at his residence and taken into custody without incident.
According to police agency spokesman Dwayne English, at 2:53 a.m. Sunday, the officers responded to the Double J Sports Bar at 1001 Essington Road for a report of a patron who had broken a glass door.
Upon arrival, the officers spoke with security staff, who reported that Escobedo-Arteaga shattered the business’s front glass door.

"It is alleged that Escobedo-Arteaga became upset after being asked to cash out from a slot machine as the establishment was closing," English said. "After exiting the business, he allegedly punched the glass door from outside, causing it to shatter, and then left the area in a vehicle."
Officers found Escobedo-Arteaga at his residence a short time later and took him into custody without incident, English said. He was released on a notice to appear in court.
