Gun Pointed At Woman In Super 8 Lot, 1 Arrested: JPD

JOLIET, IL — A 27-year-old Indianapolis man was arrested Sunday night at the Super 8 motel on Mall Loop Drive after Joliet police say he pointed a loaded gun at a 40-year-old woman during a parking lot altercation.

Indiana resident Trey Williams was arrested on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault and unlawful possession of ammunition, according to police.

Officers responded to the Super 8 around 9:50 p.m. Sunday for a disturbance call.

"Officers were able to determine that Williams and a female were involved in a verbal altercation inside a SUV in the parking lot of a hotel," Joliet police reports show. "A 40-year-old female victim observed the altercation and tried to intervene, at which point Williams produced a loaded firearm and pointed it at the victim."

Officers arrested Williams at the motel property without any problems, police said. A loaded gun was recovered by officers from inside the sports utility vehicle driven by Williams, reports show.
