Gunfire In Crest Hill During Domestic Disturbance, Police Arrest Woman, 50
There is no ongoing threat to the community at this time, the city of Crest Hill wanted everyone to know.

CREST HILL, IL — According to a city of Crest Hill Facebook bulletin, the Crest Hill Police Department responded to the 16400 block of Borio Drive at 2:27 p.m. on Monday for a reported domestic incident involving the discharge of a gun inside a house.
By Monday night, Joliet Patch learned that 50-year-old Karen Carnahan found herself in custody in the Will County Jail after the Crest Hill police arrested her on charges of reckless discharge of a gun, being a felon in possession of a weapon and possessing a gun with an expired FOID.
Carnahan comes from the 16400 block of Borio Drive, according to her jail logs. She was also kept in Will County's Jail in August of 2023. Before that, she was jailed back in 2005 and again in 2007.

Crest Hill issued a news release revealing that the officers interviewed a man and a woman at the home and learned that a domestic argument took place. Carnahan obtained the man's gun during the argument and fired it, the police said. A gun was found by police and taken as evidence. Nobody was shot during the Monday afternoon domestic incident, police said.
As for Carnahan, she remains in the jail awaiting her first court appearance in Will County.
