Gunfire In Plainfield Area: Joliet Police Confirm

Joliet police have not made any arrests in connection with Wednesday evening's gunfire near the Kendall Ridge Park.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police have confirmed that they are investigating a hail of gunfire that took place early Wednesday morning in the Plainfield area. The gun incident happened in the Kendall Ridge area, around 6:20 p.m.

At that time, officers on the far west side were sent to the area of Faxton Lane and Townsend Boulevard for a report of shots fired, police spokesman Dwayne English noted.

He said the officers discovered spent shell casings in the street. The gunfire happened near Kendall Ridge Park.

"It was determined that there were residents at the nearby park, however, officers were unable to locate anyone, or anything struck by gunfire," English said.

No arrests have take place, so far.

This is an active investigation in its early stages as Joliet Police Detectives work to identify a suspect or suspects, English said.
