Gunman Targets Joliet Near West Side Neighborhood, Gets Away

Several people were inside the house at the time of the shooting, but they waited more than 90 minutes to notify the Joliet police.

JOLIET, IL — Around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, someone holding a gun fired several bullets into a house in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street. The shooting, however, was not reported around 1:01 a.m., well after the gunman left the area.

According to Joliet police, a preliminary investigation of the shooting indicated that at approximately 11:30 PM, the front of the residence was struck multiple times by gunfire. There were occupants inside the residence at the time of the shooting, but no injuries were reported
