'Habitual Criminal' From Joliet Gunned Down Near Route 6

JOLIET, IL — A 29-year-old Joliet man who was discharged from the Illinois Department of Corrections earlier this year died over the weekend after being fatally shot numerous times. The Will County Coroner's Office announced that Floyd Faint was pronounced dead around 1 p.m. Saturday in Rockdale.

The ex-convict from Joliet was killed near the I&M Canal State Park Trail, by Route 6 and Brandon Road. The Illinois State Police is in charge of the homicide investigation and trying to identify Faint's killer.

Records from the Illinois Department of Correction indicate Faint was convicted of numerous serious crimes in Will County, from 2008, 2009 and 2011. Some of his crimes included being a felon in possession of a gun and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

When Faint got sentenced to the Illinois DOC in August of 2011 for being an armed habitual criminal, he drew a prison sentence of nine years and six months, data shows. His parole date from the Vienna Correctional Center was listed as Feb. 22, 2019.
