Harrah's Patron Kicks Joliet Police In Chest: Cops
The 39-year-old casino patron was refusing to leave the property despite being told by Harrah's security to leave, Joliet police said.

JOLIET, IL — A 39-year-old Chicago woman is now lodged in Will County's Jail after Joliet police say she kicked an officer in the chest after being carried out of the Harrah's Casino around dinner time on Sunday after she became belligerent.
Melissa Gonzalez was booked into the jail at 7:03 p.m. She faces charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, obstructing a police officer, criminal trespass and obstructing justice.
The incident happened inside the Harrah's Casino around 5:40 p.m.

According to Joliet Police spokesman Dwayne English:
- Gonzalez refused to leave the property despite being told by Harrah’s security to leave.
- Officers found Gonzalez seated at a gaming table, and she appeared intoxicated.
- Gonzalez ignored multiple requests to leave the casino, and she charged at an officer.
- She resisted the arrest by tensing her body and pulling her arms away.
- Gonzalez had to be carried out of the casino by Joliet police after she refused to walk under her own power.
- While officers were escorting her outside, she kicked an officer in the chest.
- At the Joliet Police Department, the Chicago woman refused to cooperate with processing procedures, so she was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
