Plainfield's Bid To Land Hawk Auto Subaru Falls A Little Short

The much-anticipated land deal was approved at Monday's meeting of the Joliet Park District.

JOLIET, IL - A land deal that had been in the works in recent weeks to keep Hawk Auto Subaru in Joliet was approved on Monday night by the Joliet Park District. The district agreed to sell off nearly eight acres at the northwest corner of Caton Farm Road and Route 59 to Tri-State Land Partners. The land is currently part of the Wedgewood Golf Course property.

WJOL reported the land was sold for about $4.5 million and the money would go toward making improvements to the existing golf course.

The real estate deal with Joliet's park district keeps Hawk Auto Subaru from relocating to Plainfield. In May, The Herald-News reported that Hawk Auto was considering property in Plainfield near Route 59 and Fraser Road. Hawk Auto Subaru's current dealership is located in the 2200 block of West Jefferson Street.
