Man Beat Up 2 Woman, Teen Girl After Returning From Out Of Town Excursion: Joliet Police

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department was responsible for an overnight domestic violence arrest in recent days at an east side property in the 500 block of Elmwood Avenue.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:45 a.m. on July 19, officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Elmwood Avenue following a report of a domestic disturbance.

English noted that after returning home from a gathering out of town, Eduardo Arriaga-Gonzalez, 38, allegedly became involved in a domestic-related argument with a woman in his family and struck her in the face. When a 15-year-old girl attempted to intervene, Arriaga-Gonzalez allegedly grabbed her by the arm and shoulder before leaving the residence, the arrest report alleged.

Arriaga-Gonzalez was not at the scene when officers initially arrived. He was taken into custody without incident after officers located him upon returning to the residence later that evening.

As time went on, English said his fellow officers also determined that Arriaga-Gonzalez had an active Illinois State Police warrant for failure to appear in court on previous traffic-related charges. Arriaga-Gonzalez was charged with two counts of domestic battery. He was processed at the
Joliet Police Department and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility on the domestic battery charges and the outstanding warrant.
