Henderson Ave. Will Close Down For Joliet's Water Main Project, Length Of Closure May Surprise Some
Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes for the duration of the work.

JOLIET, IL — The City of Joliet Public Utilities Department will begin construction of a water main on Henderson Avenue as part of the Virginia Phase 2 Water Main Replacement Project on Tuesday.
The project includes work to replace the watermain on Henderson Avenue from Jackson Street to E. Cass Street. Henderson Avenue between Jackson Street and E. Cass Street
will be closed to through traffic; local traffic should follow posted detour, for approximately three weeks.

On-street parking will be restricted in this area.
All work, including final pavement restoration, is anticipated to be complete by October 9, 2026.
