High School Killer Charged With Shooting 2: Cops
The 16-year-old murderer was taken into custody at Joliet Central High School, police said.

A teenage killer was arrested at Joliet Central High School Thursday morning, police said.
The 16-year-old was charged with murdering 21-year-old Terion Steward and with wounding a 14-year-old boy in the same gun attack.
“There are likely to be more charges against others,” said Joliet Police Chief Brian Benton.

The teen was taken into custody at the school about 8:15 a.m. He was locked up at River Valley Juvenile Detention Center.
Steward took a head shot near the corner of McDonough and Joliet Street Sunday night. Prior to the shooting, a group of as many as eight people had gathered near McDonough and Joliet Street, police said. As Steward and the 14-year-old walked past the group, shots rang out from a vehicle. While Steward was hit in both the head and the thigh, the teen took a bullet to his foot. His wound was treated at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.

Benton was meeting with representatives from the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office Friday morning about charging more people in connection with the gun attack.
