Homeless Man Threatened Casino Security, Claimed To Have Gun & Be An MMA Fighter: Police

The homeless man didn't have a gun, police said, and he probably isn't an MMA fighter.

A homeless man shouted threats from the Cass Street bridge down to a Harrah’s Casino security guard, police said.

Thomas Benson, 34, threatened to attack the guard, police said, and he also claimed to be carrying a gun in his pocket and to be a mixed martial artist.

Benson, a resident of MorningStar Mission, had been in a dispute with the guard at the casino and departed about 11:30 a.m. Monday, police said.
