JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department is seeking the community's help in connection with Tuesday night's slaying outside of the Denny's restaurant on Plainfield Road. The homicide was reported to Joliet Police at 10:03 p.m. The Denny's is located at 2531 Plainfield Road. The victim has been identified as Gregory G. Brown Jr., a 36-year-old Crest Hill man.
The Will County Coroner's Office said that Brown died from a single gunshot wound.
According to Joliet Police, the shooting victim was found in the Denny's parking lot.

"[The] Joliet Fire Department responded and attempted to revive the victim, but unfortunately the victim had already succumbed to his injuries," Joliet Police announced.
Joliet Police are trying to determine the facts that led up to the homicide. No arrests have been made yet.

"This is an ongoing investigation and is still in its early stages. The Joliet Police Department is actively looking into what occurred and for those responsible," the news bulletin read.
