Hortencia G. Reta

Hortencia G. Reta, age 87, of Morris, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Arcadia Care of Morris. She was born August 26, 1937, to the late Paubla and Querino Trevino in Brownsville, TX . She has resided in Morris since 1974.

Survived by her children, Bruno (Mary Ann), Ismael, and Xavier Reta all of Morris; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Estella Perez and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Evaristo Reta, Sr. (2013); son, Evaristo Reta, Jr. (2012), grandson, Esteban Reta and her parents.

Hortencia's hobbies included crocheting, arts and crafts as well as painting. She will be fondly remembered as the matriarch of her family who will be deeply missed.

Visitation for Hortencia will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Morris.
