Burglar, 15, Who Stole Air Jordans Arrested 2 Days Later: JPD

The juvenile had forcibly entered the residence through a window and took numerous pairs of Air Jordan shoes, Joliet police revealed.

JOLIET, IL— A 15-year-old Joliet boy was arrested over the weekend at a downtown Joliet business, two days after Joliet police investigated a residential burglary on the city's west side involving the theft of a laptop computer and several pairs of Air Jordan gym shoes.

Joliet police said the juvenile is now housed at the River Valley Justice Center facing charges of residential burglary. Last Thursday, around 9:45 p.m, Joliet police learned of a burglary at a house in the 500 block of Douglas Street.

The 15-year-old boy had entered the residence through a window and he took numerous pairs of Air Jordan shoes and a laptop, police reports show.

The juvenile was seen running away with the proceeds of the burglary after one of the residents interrupted the burglary, police spokesman Dwayne English said.

"It was later learned that the juvenile is a past acquaintance with one of the juvenile residents of the home," English announced.

Two days later, around 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Joliet police were called to Koko’s Fashion and Beauty World at 354 North Chicago St. after the burglary victim found the juvenile, "and it appeared the juvenile was wearing the shoes and socks that had been taken in the burglary," English stated.

At that point, Joliet police took the juvenile into custody without incident.
