Hufford Junior High Teacher selected as University of St. Francis/WJOL Teacher of the Month
Congratulations to Hufford Junior High special education teacher Katie Walsh who was selected as a University of St. Francis/WJOL Teacher of the Month. Katie was surprised during lunch with some of her students. Katie received a prize pack from USF that includes a voucher for professional development courses ($780 value). She was also interviewed on STAR FM. Katie joins the other Joliet Public Schools District 86 teachers who were also selected as Teacher of the Month this year: Alita Guerrero (Gompers Junior High), Nicole Sanchez-Paramo (Forest Park Individual Education (I.E.) School), and Georgia Balderas (Farragut Elementary). Congratulations also to the following District 86 teachers that were nominated for USF/WJOL Teacher of the Month program. Those teachers include: Katie Chengary (Hufford Junior High), Benquila Lewis (Carl Sandburg Elementary), Marilyn Coleman (Farragut Elementary), Carrie O’Donoghue (Pershing Elementary), Elizabeth Duran (A.O.
