I-80 Joliet Has 6-Car Pileup: State Police
Motorists using I-80 on Wednesday afternoon are urged to be very cautious.

JOLIET, IL - The Illinois State Police issued a press release late Wednesday afternoon surrounding a six-vehicle collision in Joliet along Interstate 80. The crash happened on I-80 eastbound, an area east of Midland Avenue, which is mile post 131.
"Both lanes are closed however traffic is getting through slowly on the shoulder," Illinois State Police indicated shortly after 3 p.m.
Around 3:45 p.m., WJOL's 1340 radio Morning Show host Scott Slocum posted a photo of traffic congestion Facebook and remarked, "I-80 both east and west is a parking lot through Joliet because of a six-car crash eastbound near Center Street ... Up to an hour delay."

At 5 p.m., State Police announced that all lanes of I-80 were reopened again in both directions.
