IDOT Resurfacing Project Along Jefferson St. Begins This Week
The construction project will run through October and will require daily lane closures. Drivers can expect delays while passing through.
JOLIET, IL. — An Illinois Department of Transportation project will begin this week and will close lanes on Jefferson St. on a daily basis until October.
Beginning Thursday, drivers can expect to experience intermittent lane closures and delays on Jefferson St. from Edan Lane to Joyce Rd, IDOT announced last week. The resurfacing project will also include the construction of new ramps and curbs that will be compliant with the American With Disabilities Act. Access to businesses within in the work zone will be maintained throughout the construction.
Drivers are asked to allow extra time while passing through this area and are required to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zone, obey posted speed limits and be on alert for workers and construction equipment.
