I'm Not a Male Prostitute, Says Alleged Armed Robber

A man jailed on robbery charges sued his brother and sister for allegedly telling people he's a prostitute.

A Bolingbrook man jailed on robbery charges was so upset by his brother and sister allegedly telling people he’s a prostitute that he sued them.

Jesus Moses Simms, 21, filed the lawsuit against his brother and sister in Will County court.

Simms, who also goes by the names Donnie Burton and Jesus Coburn, according to another one of his other criminal cases, was arrested on robbery charges in January. He used a “replica handgun” to stick up a man according to a criminal complaint.

The man had made plans to rendezvous with a prostitute, police said at the time. But when he got there, Simms emerged with his fake gun, stuck it to the man's head and relieved him of $85, police said.

Simms and the supposed prostitute, 19-year-old Chelsea Dean of Joliet, then called the cops and told them Dean’s ex-boyfriend had stopped by to choke and threaten her.

Dean was charged with obstructing justice and held at the Will County jail for three and a half weeks before she made bail. Her case remains pending.

Simms needs $350,000 bond to get out of jail, and apparently does not have it, as he is still in custody. And if it wasn’t bad enough getting locked up on a robbery rap, Simms’ brother and sister went to officials at his church and told them he is a male prostitute, his lawsuit said.

About a week after Simms was arrested, brother and sister Derek and Samantha Walker “arrived at (his) church and explained to the Saints (Elders) of his church that he was arrested for prostitution,” the lawsuit said.

The Walkers “purposely and maliciously defamed (him) for the purpose of destroying his reputation in the church and community,” the suit said, and that is worth about $50,000 to Simms.
