Immaculee Ilibagiza, Rwandan Genocide Survivor to speak at St. Mary Nativity

IMMACULEE ILIBAGIZA, Rwandan Genocide Survivor, will speak on her story of "FAITH, HOPE AND FORGIVENESS. Please Join us Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Saint Mary Nativity Church 706 North Broadway Street in Joliet. The 1994 Rwandan genocide took the lives of nearly one million Tutsi, including Immaculee’s entire family except for one brother. She survived by huddling silently with seven other women in a 3-by-4-foot bathroom for 91 days. Despite unimaginable suffering, she committed herself to a life of peace, hope and forgiveness. Ilibagiza works with the UN and her first book, Left to Tell; Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust (Hay House), has been translated into seventeen languages and sold over two million copies. Immaculee’s story has been made into a documentary titled, The Diary of Immaculee. She has appeared on 60 Minutes, the CBS Early Show, CNN, EWTN, CBS Evening News, The Aljazeera Network, as well as The New York Times, USA Today, and Newsday publications.
