Indy Man Threw Beer Can on Track During NASCAR Race: Cops

You can take the man out of Indiana ...

An Indiana man hurled a beer can onto the track of Chicagoland Speedway in the middle of Saturday's Dollar General 300, police said.

Jeremiah Schmittel, 30, of Whiting, Ind., was charged with reckless conduct in connection with the 3 p.m. incident at the Joliet racetrack.

Schmittel threw a can of Miller Lite on the track while the race was under a caution flag, police said.

Schmittel was released on his own recognizance and presumably went back to Whiting.

Schmittel's alleged shenanigans were not the only matter police were called to Chicagoland Speedway to sort out Saturday.
