Ingalls Ave. Walgreens Burglary: Joliet Police Arrest 3

Monday night's burglary at the Joliet Walgreens happened several minutes after the city of Joliet's 8 p.m. curfew took effect.

JOLIET, IL — Three 20-year-old men from Joliet, Shorewood and Plainfield were all arrested Monday night after Joliet police say they tried to break into the Walgreens on Ingalls Avenue shortly after the city's 8 p.m. emergency curfew took effect.

Shorewood resident Jon Hansen, Plainfield resident Tyler Peters and Joliet resident Vern Sjogreen were all arrested Monday night on charges of attempted burglary and criminal damage to property.

At 8:21 p.m. Monday, city of Joliet officers were called to the Walgreens at 1801 Ingalls Ave. for a burglary in progress.

"Officers were able to determine that individuals had arrived in a black Ford pick-up truck and attempted to break into the building through a window and door," police reports show. "The suspects fled the scene prior to officers arriving."

Joliet police later spotted the unattended black Ford truck in the 1900 block of Cinnamon Court and the three 20-year-old men were all in the area, reports show.

"All three were transported to the Joliet Police Department for booking procedures, where they indicated their involvement," reports indicate.

On Tuesday, a Will County judge set bail at $100,000 for Hansen, who lives on Ravinia Drive in Shorewood. Hansen remained in custody Wednesday.

Bail for Peters, who lives on Major Drive, a Plainfield mailing address, was set at $30,000. Peters was freed from the Will County on Tuesday night after posting 10 percent bond.

Bail for Sjogreen, who lives in the 1800 block of Vernon Street apartment units in Joliet, was set at $100,000, and he remained in the Will County Jail on Wednesday, jail records show.
