iPhone 13 Stolen From Plainfield South: High School Student Arrested

A 14-year-old student was placed into custody without incident at the high school on Tuesday, Joliet police announced.

JOLIET, IL — A 14-year-old girl who attends Plainfield South High School is now being held in St. Charles at the Kane County Juvenile Center after Joliet police detectives charged her with the crime of burglary.

The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. on Nov. 10, and the arrest took place this week.

Last Thursday, Joliet police learned of a theft of an iPhone 13 from a student’s backpack in a girl’s locker room earlier in the day at Plainfield South High School.

According to police reports, detectives determined that a 14-year-old girl who is a student at Plainfield South High School had been responsible for stealing the iPhone from the backpack.

On Tuesday, around 8:30 a.m., the Plainfield South student was arrested without any problems while at the high school, police said.
