'Irate' Woman On Bluff Street Bites, Kicks Joliet Officer: PD

Arionte Lusby, 24, kicked a Joliet police officer several times and bit the officer in the wrist, her arrest report shows.

JOLIET, IL — While most of Joliet was sound asleep, an irate 24-year-old woman was hitting and kicking a door, challenging an apartment dweller to a fight, according to Joliet police. Thursday's 4 a.m. incident in the 300 block of North Bluff Street resulted in a felony arrest for 24-year-old Arionte Lusby. She bit a Joliet police officer on the wrist and kicked that officer several times, according to Lusby's arrest reports.

Lusby is being detained in the Will County Jail where she's charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, disorderly conduct and having an outstanding Will County arrest warrant.

  • At 3:59 a.m., officers were sent to a disturbance on North Bluff.
  • There, Lusby was irate and uncooperative with Joliet police, who learned Lusby came to one of the apartments and began hitting and kicking the door and challenging the tenant to a fight.
  • Lusby tried to shut the apartment door on the officers and refused numerous commands to submit to arrest.
  • While resisting her arrest, Lusby kicked one officer several times and bit the same officer's wrist.
  • Officers managed to take Lusby into custody without further incident.
  • Lusby had an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court on charges of resisting a peace officer.

Jail records listed Lusby as being a resident of the 300 block of North Bluff Street.

Her bail is now listed at $10,000, and she remained incarcerated Thursday night, unable to post the necessary 10 percent to regain her freedom while awaiting trial.
