'It's Crushing ... We're Americans': Aunt Says Terrorist Plot Out of Character for Cousins
The aunt of the Aurora cousins accused of planning to attack the Joliet National Guard HQ says the charges have devastated her family.

Tiffany Edmonds, the aunt of the Aurora cousins accused of plotting to attack the Joliet National Guard Headquarters, said she didn’t think her nephews were upset at the United States and that the charges against them have been “heartbreaking,” according to a Chicago Tribune report.
Hasan Edmonds, 22, an Army National Guard Specialist, and Jonas Edmonds, 29, were arrested by FBI agents last week and charged with one count each of conspiring to provide material support and resources to a foreign terrorist organization.

Tiffany Edmonds told the Tribune that she would like to speak with her nephews, and she thinks the two might have been manipulated by others into planning the attack.

“It’s crushing. It’s heartbreaking. My family’s not like that; we’re Americans. We’re happy people. They know we’re not terrorists or people who want to kill people or evil.”
