JCHS Steelmen Track and Field Athletes Take home Top Honors at Sectional and Advance to State
Joliet Central High School Steelmen athletes Raul Rosendo and Jesse Brady competed in the IHSA Homewood-Flossmoor Track and Field Sectional.

Joliet Central High School Steelmen athletes Raul Rosendo and Jesse Brady competed in the IHSA Homewood-Flossmoor Track and Field Sectional, taking home top honors. Rosendo was awarded the title of Sectional Champion in the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:33.21. Brady placed 2nd in the 800 meter run with 1:59.04 at the sectional meet. Both runners qualified for the IHSA state meet.
At the state competition, Brady ran 1:59.91 to finish 26th and Rosendo ran 9:45.84 for 32nd place.
“Both runners improved tremendously this season,” said JCHS Track and Field Coach Doug Cherry. “We are happy that their hard work has paid off.”
