JCHS Wrestler Advances to 2020 IHSA State Competition
Over the President's Day Weekend, JCHS wrestler Jayden Perez won the Quincy Wrestling Sectional at the 182 pound weight class.

Over the President’s Day Weekend, Joliet Central High School wrestler Jayden Perez won the Quincy Wrestling Sectional at the 182 pound weight class. Jayden went 4-0 with wins over Edwardsville, Providence, Plainfield South, and Quincy. Jayden improves his record to 39-4 for the 2020 season. He advances to the IHSA State Wrestling Tournament in Champaign, IL this upcoming weekend, Thursday-Saturday, February 20-22, 2020.
Jayden is looking to become the first state wrestling champion at Joliet Central High School since 1998. He is a captain and has served as a leader throughout the season. Jayden placed in the top three for each tournament this season, including winning the Pontiac Tournament in December. He is an SPC All-Conference wrestler as well. Jayden set goals prior to the season of being a state medalist and he is determined to get there.
