JD's BBQ Opens This Week In Joliet: 'I'm Pretty Excited'
Rico Wilson said he plans to be a hands-on owner at JD's BBQ which opens Wednesday evening at 221 Ruby Street.

JOLIET, IL — Ruby Street's restaurant scene in Joliet will undergo a positive change this week with the addition of JD's BBQ. Rico Wilson is opening JD's at 5 p.m. Wednesday at 221 Ruby St.
"We'll be opening later for that first month," Wilson said.
Wilson said he plans to be open from 5 to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday; and 3 to 11 p.m. Sunday. He will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

Wilson said he hopes to open for lunch after about a month or so.
For now, JD's BBQ will focus on takeout orders.

"I'm pretty excited," he said. "I'm going to be a hands-on owner. I'm going to be here."
Wilson said he wanted people to know that customer service will be extremely important at JD's BBQ.
He said his beef tips, chicken tips and turkey tips will make his restaurant stand out.
"No one else has the boneless," he said.
The owner of JD's BBQ also wants people to try his rib tips and his turkey legs.
At Wednesday night's grand opening, Wilson said "everything will be available, and you will be able to taste samples" before you decide to buy it.
He said there about 10 parking spaces directly behind his restaurant, otherwise, people can park across the street at the large St. Mary Nativity Church parking lot.
