Jefferson St. Gains Another Restaurant: 'Salsas Are Really Good'
La Casita de los Antojos opened at the end of July at 907 West Jefferson St. and the new Joliet restaurant sign is now visible.

JOLIET, IL — As more and more restaurants and businesses are choosing to open along Joliet's busy West Jefferson Street, one of the latest new additions is the La Casita de los Antojos. The small authentic Mexican restaurant is at 907 West Jefferson St.
Daniel Garcia is the owner, and it's his second Mexican restaurant here in Joliet. His other restaurant, Las Gorditas De Don Angel is at 709 Collins Street.
La Casita de los Antojos opened July 30, the owner told Joliet Patch during Monday's interview. It's now open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. The new Joliet restaurant has a small dine-in area. It's mainly geared for takeout orders.

Garcia told Joliet Patch he speaks limited English, so one of his trusted customers helped translate Monday's interview.
According to the translator, Garcia said that his new restaurant specializes in tacos, tortas, burritos, tostadas and "quesadillas with different fillings."

"Menudo (soup) to come," the owner added.
