JOLIET, IL — John Bays, one of Joliet's remarkable success stories, will be opening a Jitters at the Bay coffeehouse inside his newly refurbished Bays Tower at 311 N. Ottawa St. The project has been in the works for a year, and on Thursday, Jitters shared the news to its Facebook followers.

"Almost one year ago, nearly to the day, I read an article about Bays Tower, located less than two blocks from us. In a newspaper article, John mentioned wanting a coffeehouse in the lobby for the building’s nearly 200 future residents… even mentioning Starbucks," the Facebook post reads. "A few days later, like he’s done for 20 plus years, John came into Jitters for lunch. I'm like, 'Really?' Starbucks? Without hesitation he says…. If you want it, It’s yours.'”

The Jitters social media post said their coffeehouse at 178 N. Chicago St. has been asked for several years to open a second location.
