Downtown Joliet Bridge Has Reopened: Police

The latest disaster happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

JOLIET, IL - The downtown Joliet drawbridge along Cass Street near the Harrah's Casino was stuck once again. The latest incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Joliet Police Department responded to the area to divert westbound motorists away from the area.

On Wednesday morning, Joliet Police told Patch that the bridge is working properly again.

The last incident involving mechanical problems with the Cass Street Bridge occurred in early October when the bridge was abruptly closed for at least five hours.
