Joliet Business Sells $1 million Powerball Winning Ticket

Winners have a year to come forward and claim their prize.

JOLIET, IL - Somebody around Joliet who played Saturday's Powerball lottery game can start thinking about buying a couple new cars, perhaps a backyard swimming pool and maybe even season tickets to see all their favorite Chicago sports teams. On Saturday night, the Mickey's One Stop on Plainfield Road sold the lucky $1 million ticket with the numbers 11, 21, 28, 33 and 45, The Joliet Herald-News reported Monday.

According to the paper, Mickey's will receive $10,000, which is 1 percent of the lottery prize. For now, the identity of the winner remains a secret. Winners have a year from the time of the drawing to come forward. For information about Saturday's local winning ticket, read this Herald-News story.
