Joliet Catholic Academy: 3 January Students Of Month Revealed By Principal Jeffrey Budz
JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited in both the classroom and in the community.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the January Students of the Month: Allison Morrissette (Kiwanis Club), Kate Lynne Selinger (Lions Club), and Connor Ahoyt (Rotary Club). JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited in both the classroom and in the community.
Allison Morrissette, daughter of Danielle and Matthew Morrissette of Manhattan, is a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic Grade School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta for which she is an officer. Allison is active in Key Club, Drama Club, a Student Ambassador, and is the co-vice president of the Medical Science Club. She is also a member of the varsity tennis team. Allison is busy outside of her school duties as she works at Michaels Craft Store. Allison is undecided on which college she would like to attend but plans to major in film and media.

Kate Lynne Selinger, daughter of Jeanette and Jim Selinger of Shorewood, is a graduate of Holy Family Grade School. She is an Illinois State Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. Kate Lynne participates in Key Club, Medical Science Club, Student Council, Habitat for Humanity, Women in Science Club, Future Teachers of America, and is a Student Ambassador. She is also a member of the varsity volleyball and soccer teams and has earned All-Academic Team honors. Outside of her school responsibilities, Kate Lynne plays on a club volleyball team and works at Dairy Queen. With plans to attend Loyola University Chicago, Kate Lynne intends on majoring in biology with a potential minor in psychology. She would like to eventually become a radiologist.
Connor Ahoyt, son of Karen and Justin Ahoyt of Plainfield, is a graduate of St. Mary Immaculate Grade School. Connor is a member of the National English Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. He is a member of the varsity football team for which he was captain this year. Connor is active in Economics Club and Tech Club and was also a Kairos rector for the December 2025 boys retreat. Connor keeps busy outside of school at Rudy’s Gym in Shorewood where he weightlifts. While he is undecided on where he will go to college, Connor plans to major in computer engineering and possibly pursue a career in cybersecurity.
