What Time is Trick-or-Treating in Joliet?
City council takes action after complaints from residents.

The Joliet City Council on Tuesday recently changed this year’s trick-or-treating hours.
The new hours are 4 to 7 p.m., comparable to the hours in other nearby communities.
After complaints from some residents, Councilman Larry Hug took to Joliet Patch’s Facebook page on Tuesday, pledging to bring the subject up at the Oct. 7 council meeting.

“I already personally agree, as a father, with changing the hours,” Hug wrote, after some residents balked at the city’s original hours of 3:30 to 6 p.m.
“Kids don’t even get off the (school) bus til after 3:30,” one resident said. “The times need to get changed!”

- Plainfield: 4 to 7 p.m.
- Romeoville 4 to 7 p.m.
- Shorewood: 5 to 7 p.m
