Fianceé Taken By Joliet Fire Department Ambulance, Leon Franchini Taken To Will County Jail By Joliet PD

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet woman suffered a severe beating on Monday night and now for the fourth time since 2020, 45-year-old Elizabeth Street resident Leon Franchini finds himself in the Will County jail, following his latest Joliet police arrest.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 10:32 p.m. on Monday, the officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Elizabeth Street for a domestic disturbance. He said that Leon Franchini had allegedly battered his fianceé during an argument.

"During the investigation, officers learned that Franchini allegedly slapped the female victim in the face, threw her to the ground, and began to strangle her. The victim was eventually able to escape and leave the residence to call 911," English revealed.

She was transported by the Joliet Fire Department to
St Joseph Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
Officers took Franchini into custody without incident at the residence. He was charged with aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery.

Officers also determined that Franchini had an active Will County arrest warrant for failing to appear in court on previous domestic battery charges.
