Joliet Fire Department Puts Out House Fire On City's West Side: Battalion Chief Yanak Reveals What Happened

JOLIET, IL — Joliet Fire Department Battalion Chief Paul Yanak issued a press release in regard to Monday afternoon's house fire at 925 Westwood Ave. The fire happened around 2:15 p.m.
Yanak indicated that the fire crews found smoke and flames showing from the rear of the structure. No residents were home at the time of the fire. Responding crews preformed an interior attack. The structure sustained fire damage to the first floor. The scene was declared under control at 2:25 pm. There were no injuries reported.
Fire crews from Station 1, 5, 6 responded. The fire was in a neighborhood near Wheeler Avenue and South Raynor Avenue.
