Joliet Homeless Man Jailed For Perversion
John Jarnagin was taken into custody by Joliet Police on Tuesday.

JOLIET, IL - A 55-year-old Joliet man who now identifies himself as being homeless was back in custody at the Will County Adult Detention Facility this week in connection with allegations of perversion. It took authorities several days to locate John Jarnagin after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest, but he was found this week thanks to a call to police from a helpful tipster. On October 16, according to Joliet Police, Jarnagin committed the crime of public indecency. While at an apartment complex in Joliet, Jarnagin is accused of having "knowingly exposed his penis in a lewd manner with the intent to arouse his sexual desires," the criminal complaint states.
Jarnagin was taken into custody on Tuesday morning and his bond was set at $15,000. Jarnagin has a lengthy criminal record in Will County, court records show. In 2016, he was incarcerated on charges of burglary and manufacturing cocaine. About a week before the incident of indecent exposure, Joliet Police cited him for possessing a small amount of marijuana. At that time, he was living in an apartment in the 400 block of Western Avenue, court documents reflect.
Jail logs show that Jarnagin was released from custody late Wednesday afternoon.
