JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Fire Department needed about 25 minutes to get Sunday afternoon's house fire at 413 Leach Avenue under control after the fire broke out around 2:05 p.m. at the two-story house.
Joliet Fire Battalion Chief Jim Batusich said the first units arrived within two minutes of the 911 call. Firefighters saw smoke and fire showing from the front of the dwelling once the engines and trucks got to Leach Avenue.
Multiple hose lines were used inside to extinguish the first floor fire. Everyone who was inside the burning house made it out safely, Batusich noted.
