Joliet IHOP Flattened By Milburn Demolition: Photo Gallery
It didn't take long for Portillo's to demolish the former IHOP restaurant on Larkin Avenue in Joliet.

JOLIET, IL — Less than two months after Joliet Patch broke the news that the IHOP restaurant on Larkin Avenue had closed, all that's left of the building is the front entrance. In recent days, crews with Milburn Demolition out of Bellwood have leveled the former IHOP to make way for the nation's first Portillo's Pickup restaurant.
Portillo's announced in July that Joliet was selected as its first location for a Portillo's Pickup. The carryout-only restaurant will feature a triple drive-thru lane.
Portillo's plans to have the new restaurant built and ready to open this winter.

The address of the former IHOP is 1444 North Larkin Ave. It's in the same North Ridge Plaza that will feature a future Vasa Fitness center at the site of the vacant Ultra Foods grocery store.
Joliet has also approved plans for the construction of a Starbucks on one of the outlots.
