The six-hour event in August is expected to attract more than 1,000 visitors to Joliet.

JOLIET, IL — One of downtown Joliet's newest retail stores, Joliet Kreamers, is planning to host a large sneaker event on Aug. 7. The six-hour event is expected to attract more than 1,000 visitors, according to Tyrell Hundley, owner of the Joliet Kreamers.
Hundley said the event will be held at the Joliet Central High School field house or in the gymnasium at the Inwood Recreation Center, operated by the Joliet Park District.
Location details are still being finalized.

In addition to the energy drink Monster, "we're trying to get other local food vendors," he added. "It's going to be big. For one, it's Joliet's first one, and we'll be open a year in August."
Joliet Kreamers is located at 173 North Chicago St., right near the Joliet Public Library branch. It's the Joliet area's first sneaker boutique. Prior to the storefront's opening, Joliet Kreamers had been an online sneaker group where people buy, sell and trade all sorts of shoes.
Joliet Kreamers also sells windbreakers, shirts, wrist bracelets and caps.
The word Kreamers, more specifically Kream, comes from an acronym that is popular in the sneaker community: Kicks Rule Everything Around Me.
