Joliet Lottery Winner: Sunshine Food Market Sells Lucky Ticket

Three players matched four numbers and the Powerball with Power Play to win $100,000 each, and one winning tickets was sold in Joliet.

JOLIET, IL — If you bought your lottery tickets in Joliet for Wednesday's drawing, you might be the winner of a $100,000 prize. State lottery officials announced that the Sunshine Food Mart at 806 Wilcox Street sold one of the $100,000 winning tickets.

The other $100,000 winners came from the Jewel on West Boughton Road in Bolingbrook and the Metamore IGA in Metamora.

Lottery officials said the Powerball jackpot has ballooned to a staggering $1.5 billion for Saturday night’s drawing and it's quickly approaching the world record $1.586 billion jackpot.

If a player wins Saturday night’s massive grand prize, it would be the second largest Powerball jackpot and the third largest lottery jackpot won in U.S. history.

No winner matched all six numbers to win the jackpot on Wednesday night. Besides the three players who matched four numbers and the Powerball with Power Play to win $100,000 each, nine local players matched four numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000 each.

The majority of the winning tickets were purchased at retailers across the greater Chicagoland area, lottery officials indicated.
