Joliet Man Attacks Woman, 27, Inside His Truck: JPD
The victim and Richard Haak became involved in a late night argument while they were in Haak's truck, Joliet police said.

JOLIET, IL — A 27-year-old Joliet man was arrested by Joliet police in connection with allegations he attacked a woman inside his truck on Sunday night. Richard Haak III is now in the Will County Jail facing domestic battery charges.
On Monday, officers were called around 11 a.m. to a residence in the 100 block of South Hammes Avenue, in the Marycrest area, for a welfare check.
According to police reports, Haak had attacked a woman the previous night during an argument in his truck. He and the woman had a romantic relationship, according to the police reports.

"Haak struck the victim in the face multiple times while the victim sat in the passenger seat," Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English indicated.
During the beating, the woman escaped from Haak's truck, and he sped off, police noted.

On Monday morning, the victim spotted Hatk and his truck in the Marycrest area, in the 100 block of Madonna avenue and another argument erupted, according to police.
At that point, an acquaintance of the woman drove past them and called Joliet's Police Department asking officers to check on the victim's welfare.
Officers found Haak in the 2300 block of Marmion Avenue where he was placed into custody without incident, according to English.
Haak's bail is set at $10,000. He remained in custody on Wednesday, unable to post bond.
