Joliet Man Faces Murder Charges After Victim, 42, Later Dies
A Will County grand jury has returned a bill of indictment against Mario Noble in connection with the Joliet shooting on Pine Street.

JOLIET, IL —The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow announced Thursday that first-degree murder charges have been filed against 36-year-old Mario Noble in connection with the Sept. 3 shooting of Joliet resident Jermaine Pettigrew.
Pettigrew was shot in the 300 block of Pine Street, which is where Noble lives, and near the intersection of Center Street. A Joliet Fire Department ambulance brought Pettigrew to the AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center, and Pettigrew was conscious and alert after the shooting.
However, the 42-year-old Pettigrew died six days later, the Will County Coroner's Office announced. Prior to the shooting victim's death, the Joliet Police Department had charged Noble with attempted murder.

He has remained in the Will County Jail since his arrest on Sept. 11.
According to Thursday's bill of indictment from the Will County grand jury, Noble faces three counts of first-degree murder and one felony charge of aggravated battery with a firearm.
